Why this page is voluntary
The German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) has applied since 28 June 2025. For services it exempts micro-enterprises, that is, businesses with fewer than ten employees and an annual turnover of no more than two million euros. YKsystems is such a business, so this page would not have to exist.
We publish it anyway, for a simple reason: if you explain nothing, you do not have to keep to anything. If you explain what you have checked and what is still missing, you can be measured against it. We prefer the second.
What we have implemented and checked
- The site can be fully operated with the keyboard. Menus open and close with the Enter and Escape keys, and the focus stays visible.
- At the very start of every page there is a skip link straight to the content, visible as soon as you press the Tab key.
- The page language is marked up, German or English on the English pages, so that screen readers pronounce it correctly.
- Images have alternative texts. Purely decorative graphics are explicitly marked as such so that screen readers skip them.
- If you have reduced motion in your system settings, you get the site without animations.
- Colour contrasts are checked by calculation, not estimated. There is a dedicated check script in the project for this that runs with every update.
What is not good enough yet
- Small secondary details such as date lines and counters are currently too faint. They reach about 2.4:1 contrast, while 4.5:1 is required for body text. This is the biggest known gap and is next on the list.
- We have not yet had the site tested with a screen reader by real users, only checked it ourselves. Our own check does not replace that.
- The charts on the system pages also output their values as text, but are not provided as a full table.

Write to us about what did not work, and with which device or which assistive technology. We reply within 24 to 48 hours on working days and tell you whether and when we will change it.

If our answer does not help, you can contact the German federal states' market surveillance authority for the accessibility of products and services. It is responsible for supervision under the Accessibility Strengthening Act.
